Dates to be announced later
Dear Colleagues:
It is with a great regret that we have to postpone to 2011 the 5th SMU EDGE Conference, "Bridging the Gap: Entrepreneurship in Theory and Practice," which was scheduled to be held in Singapore from July 15-17, 2010.
Since 2005, the EDGE Conference has sought to promote the meaningful exchange of academic/practical research, building of networks, and advancement of knowledge in the field of entrepreneurship.Despite our efforts to promote this year's conference, however, we have not received a sufficient number of submissions. Even though we extended the deadline for submission of abstracts, until now we have only a small number of abstracts of quality that the reviewers accepted. We are unsure if the travel budget constraints or the volcanic ash are possible reasons. Be that as it may be, w e carefully evaluated the situation and came to a conclusion that a small conference will not provide substantial benefits for participants.
Despite the difficult situation we have faced this year, we believe that organizing an event to bring entrepreneurship scholars and practitioners around the world together to discuss and share their research findings and best practices is a quest worth doing.
We would like to seek your views and suggestions as how we may improve the EDGE entrepreneurship conference in the future.
Yours faithfully,
Organizing Committee, SMU EDGE Conference
Professor Young Rok Choi, Chair
Professor Tan Wee Liang, Co-Chair
